Origami Snow

November 26, 2013

Since we are gearing towards Thanksgiving, Black Friday and everything that comes with Christmas in New York, I thought I would take a moment to look at the artistic side of marketing. While I am strongly inspired by ad campaigns that are lovely and beautiful, there is one particular installation that I am watching closely this season.

Ingrid Gabor is in the process of creating an origami snowflake in a storefront in Flatiron. While she is at it, she is documenting the whole process, from beveling to gorilla glue. There is no doubt that the mirrors and paper will reflect the light of the city and I, for one, am quite excited to see the finished product.

You can flip through the whole process at Ingrid’s tumblr, here. You can also check out her portfolio, here.
