Gus Petro, a European photographer, brought the realization of the United States to life. We all know that our country contains almost every geographical entity that is, from mountains to oceans to urban cities out to vast farmlands. From one coast to the other, the land creates a constant oxymoron; constant beauty. While photographing two opposite locations, New York City (dense) and the Grand Canyon (empty), Gus decided to bring them together and create Merge, a series of photographs that captures a compelling reason to love the US in all its emptiness, all its density and all its beauty.

See Gus’ entire series here.
