Missing Ankgor Wat

July 11, 2013

I cannot seem to get travelling out of my mind lately. Wanderlust has taken a hold of me and won’t let go.

Two years ago (almost to the day), 4 dudes and I were walking around the ruins of Angkor Wat, one of the 7 Man Made Wonders of the World, in the heart of Cambodia. The history that fills these old temples is long and gruesome, with epic wars leading to different cultures controlling the land. There are strong ties to different religions and idols that are exhibited, and every piece of stone is built with immaculate detail. I questioned over and over how they did this with their mere hands.

And recently, historians have found something new very close to the ruins: a lost, underground city with winding canals and roadways hidden under a mountain.  I suppose it’s time to go back.

…or go through all of my not so well taken pictures.
