The Defining Decade

May 29, 2013

Have you seen this Ted Talk by Meg Jay called Why 30 is not the new 20? Her discussion of being a woman in your twenties should transcend deeply to all of you, whether in your twenties or not. Most of life’s defining moments take place before the age of 35 and, scientifically, your twenties are not the time to say, “Oh, that will come,” or “I’ll kick that can down the road a bit further.” You should be living with intention in love and work. Your personality is continuously forming and the decisions you make today can pivot your life and career in a multitude of directions. So you should choose wisely.

I hope you’ll take a moment to watch and then read the reactions of 3 editors at Refinery29. It really is a beautiful piece.

“You need a plan and not enough time.”
