Our Trip to Boston

May 28, 2013

This Memorial Day weekend, Josh and I left this city to head north for another city. We visited Boston a few years ago and absolutely fell in love with its history and charm. This time, my dear friend Amy and her boyfriend Matt were visiting too, so we were able to spend some amazing time with them plus catch the Indians play at Fenway. Special thanks to Casey and Caroline for taking all of us under their wings! Here are some pictures, if you’d like to see…

We ate some amazing food off great recommendations. Toro, a spanish tapas spot in the South End and Legal Harborside, a seafood mecca, are the two that stood out to me. Not saying the others were not amazing, because they were. We also visited MET Back Bay, Grannery Tavern, Union and Yankee Lobster (featured on Diners, Drive-ins and Dives). As always, I ordered all their signature dishes with pride.

There is no need to go to Boston if you aren’t going to visit Fenway. It is an amazing stadium, rich with history and ivy. The Indians couldn’t hold off Boston and the rain was coming down the entire four hours in 50 degrees, but we still enjoyed our pizza, our blueberry beer and watching the Tribe.

We had a blast at all the bars, obviously. Drink in Seaport was an awesome Speakeasy where you tell your bartender what flavors you like and he makes you an awesome drink.

We visited the Boston Bombing Memorial. It was very emotional, right there in the heart of the city. There were Boston hats lined and running shoes covering the fence.

Walking around Beacon Hill was a highlight. It was so beautiful!

We had our first visit to Georgetown Cupcakes and fell in love with the carrot cake! I will be visiting the one in NYC very soon.

And we ended the long weekend with a beautiful day and a tour of Harpoon Brewery (the third largest in the Northeast). I am now in love with UFO White and will order it whenever I can.

What a relaxing and fun weekend! Monday’s weather was perfect and I honestly did not want to leave. But, I was so excited to spend time with my girl. Excited to plan our next trip!
