Kick Ballin’ Thursday: Walk Off

Yes, I know I am writing about last Thursday’s game on a Wednesday, but listen, I was busy. (I was also going to have a guest blogger but she decided her voice wasn’t good enough – she went to a performing arts school so I am positive her voice is beyond good enough. I also think it is awesome that she had the opportunity to go to performing arts school because she grew up in Queens.)

Anyways, last week was another epic battle. While I do not remember every little detail, I do remember the highlights:

  • We played a team called the Rubber Rangers who had not lost in 2 years. They were maroon and yellow like the Jerusalem Jets.
  • We were home for the second week in a row.
  • Anna came to the game.
  • Anna played first base for one play and was moved to another position due to her screaming when the ball came her way.
  • Anna was benched after that inning.
  • I was not first in the line-up (Matt and Ty finally got the hint that I am merely an average kicker).
  • We were back and forth scoring the whole game.
  • Lauren made no significant impact on defense.
  • Lauren got on base.
  • I dropped a ball at first base which indirectly caused two runs to score after a homer with 2 outs.
  • We were winning 4-3 at the end of the 6th.
  • We usually on play 6 innings but we had time for a 7th.
  • The score was tied 4-4 in the bottom of the 7th inning.
  • Luke kicked a walk off, two-run home run.
  • While running the bases, Luke caught up to Tobey who was on first during the kick.
  • Tobey is really fast. But not as fast as Anna.
  • Luke has most likely been bragging about this all week.
  • I guess it was pretty awesome.
  • Our current record is 3-1-1.
  • Tomorrow we play a team called “Win Lose, We Still Booze” and the outcome will determine our seed for the playoffs.
  • What do you think their record is?
  • It’s 0-5.
  • #inthebag.

That was fun 🙂
